Jackie Walker invited by the Jewish Antifa Berlin

After the performances we will have a critical discussion with Jackie Walker about the way antisemitism and racism play out in her own life and work. In which way does the political weaponizing of accusations of Antisemitism prevent a critical reflection on antisemitism itself and the ways it can be manifested, also inside our own anti-racist movements.
Jackie Walker is an Afro-British Jewish activist, a member of the Labor party, and the former vice-chair of Momentum. Since October 2016, following accusations of anti-Semitism, she suffered multiple sanctions and has been subject to countless threats.
Her play „The Lynching“ is a theatrical performance, a one woman show based on the history of black struggle that addresses those false allegations mobilized against her, examining them alongside the experiences of racism and antisemitism and the struggle to bring the Palestinian narrative into the mainstream.

Jewish Antifa Berlin was created to counterpose a reality of the German political context in which the Jewish left comes constantly under attack, along with Palestinian and other minority and migrant groups vigorously silenced for their criticism of Israel.
Formed in Berlin in early 2017 by Jewish activists, most of them migrants from Israel, the group has worked to give room to Palestinian and Jewish voices critical of the Israeli occupation.
Jackie Walker’s intersectional perspective as a Black Jew and the debates following her suspension enable in our eyes the possibility of critical discussion on the legacy of racism antisemitism and colonialism in the European left..
